The Young Artist Interview Series
A young musician’s conversations with the artists shaping the future of classical music
Live Conversations
Ruthann hopes to bring these conversations to live audiences at festivals, libraries, and music events — creating engaging moments where audiences can hear directly from artists about their musical journeys.

Mr. Jotaro Nakano is the Music Director of the Longwood Symphony Orchestra and an internationally engaged conductor known for using the power of music to uplift and heal communities. He has led orchestras across the United States, Mexico, Europe, and Romania, while pioneering arts-in-health initiatives at Johns Hopkins Hospital that merge music with medicine.

Dr. Hana Seung is a cardiovascular immunology postdoctoral fellow at MGH and Harvard Medical School and a clarinetist with the Longwood Symphony Orchestra, known for her contributions to landmark Science and Nature Cell Biology studies uncovering immune-driven causes of dangerous heart rhythm disorders.

Ms. Christine Lee is a Boston Symphony Orchestra cellist and internationally acclaimed soloist whose career blends artistic excellence with social impact. A prizewinner of major competitions, recording artist, educator, and digital creator, she uses music to build community, inspire dialogue, and drive meaningful change worldwide.

Ms. Sarah Rommel is a cellist celebrated for her rich sound, sincere musicianship, and imaginative programming, and is a member of the Chameleon Arts Ensemble of Boston. A Third Prize winner of the 2014 George Enescu International Cello Competition, she performs internationally as a sought-after collaborator and is the founder and Artistic Director of Seattle’s Jigsaw Chamber Ensemble.
This series is designed to bring audiences closer to the people behind classical music — through conversation, curiosity, and shared musical discovery.
